Farm Crew

32-40 hours/week

We are hiring one Farm Crew position in 2025!

Dancing Gnome Farm and Broken Paddle Guiding are closely tied together.  The farm (owned by Lauren Barry) and the guiding business (owned by her partner Michael Anderson) share work, employees, and good food. We have a wonderful crew that enjoy living in this beautiful part of the state — join our community of hard-working, nature-loving folks!

The Details

+ - Dancing Gnome Farm Crew Responsibilities

Help grow, harvest, wash and pack over 40 different types of veggies throughout the season. You will also gain experience raising laying hens, composting, transplanting, weeding, and with various other farm tasks as interested. We work hard in all weather conditions, and efficiency and accuracy are crucial for our goal of growing high-quality vegetables.

This position may also have the opportunity to work growing a wide array of top-quality cut flowers with Bluff Valley Flower Farm. https://www.bluffvalleyfarmwabasha.com/

+ - Schedule

May through the end of October

+ - Required Qualifications and Certifications

Experience working hard outdoors. Willingness to work in all weather conditions. Ability to pick up on systems, work quickly and efficiently, and be self-directed when necessary.

+ - Compensation

Compensation:

$15/hour

CSA Share

Housing: Subsidized housing available at the crew house in town.

Retirement Match: Employees are eligible for a 3% retirement match.
